It could also become their worst if this child loses control while a distracted driver is coming by.

If you were near this young man, would you assume that he’d be steady and stay on a safe path? Or would you slow way down and give him lots of room, just to be safe?

Please keep in mind that bicyclists, motorcyclists, in-line skaters, joggers, other pedestrians – and, of course, other motor vehicles – can come out of nowhere. It’s our job to give them plenty of room.

Always think worst case – and give ‘em plenty of space.
