Aw, come on. When others ask who gets enough sleep, be the first to say ‘I do!’ Here are some general tips from the National Sleep Foundation to find a perfect marriage of sleep and relaxation:

 

• Maintain a regular bed and wake-up schedule, including weekends.

• Establish a relaxing bedtime routine, such reading a book or listening to soothing music.

• Create a sleep-conducive environment that is dark, quiet, comfortable and cool.

• Sleep on a comfortable mattress and pillows. A typical good-quality mattress lasts nine or 10 years.

• Use your bedroom only for sleep. Get distractions – the TV or computer – out of there. If the clock is distracting you, turn it around, out of sight.

• Finish eating at least two to three hours before your regular bedtime.  Exercise regularly, and at least a few hours before bedtime.

• Avoid caffeine (such as coffee, tea, soft drinks and chocolate) and nicotine close to bedtime; they’re stimulants. Also avoid alcohol; it disrupts sleep.
