PPE - Wearing it Right

To wear your personal protective equipment right, it’s got to be tight.

This gentleman was kind enough to pose, showing how NOT to wear a hard hat – it’s way too high on his head to be effective. Yes, it’s hot, and there’s lots of glare. But if he was struck in the head by flying debris, the hard hat would offer less protection.

Same goes for safety eyewear – is it tight around your eyes? Are your boots in good condition? Is your hi-viz vest unzipped, making it harder for customers to see you – or is the reflective part worn out? And if you wear gloves, earplugs or other gear, are they in excellent shape?

Safety equipment – don’t just put it on. Put it on correctly!
